Today is a simple question for each of us to ask. What is my calling? Where has God put me and where is His Spirit leading? We all have a ministry we are called to. My pastor when I was stationed in NC made an interesting point one day. He was talking about when he would get to heaven and God asking Him how well he had done at his ministry. He responded, "Lord I've Done this and that with my church, The membership has grown to this number and..." and then God stops him and said no, that was your job what about your ministry. I found this provocative and for a long time kept asking, "What is my ministry"? Had I been living as I should a lot of the questions and lack of direction would have been averted, and many more opportunities would not have been missed.
We are called to a life apart from this world, but not apart from people, from the person we once were. It is a very difficult thing to seek out and follow our calling and ministry while still dealing with the flesh. I'm not saying we won't struggle, but our hearts must be fully submitted.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
