The Spirit Within

 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.  Ephesians 12:4-11

We as Christians have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. There is power to be had, and victory to be attained from that. At no point in the word of God does it say that these gifts are not for today. Christ Himself actually stated the opposite, "Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:12

If we are faithful and seeking, constantly in communion with the Spirit, will see opportunities for these gifts to manifest themselves. A friend of mine on a mission trip to South America years ago began witnessing to a homeless woman. Janelle, as she was speaking to the woman heard everything in English, when she had finished and went back with the group everyone just stared at her. She did not understand why until one of the group told her she had been speaking to the woman in Spanish the entire time. Janelle does not know Spanish. 

If we live the lives we are called to, the Spirit will guide us in our days upon this battlefield. If we feel led to lay hands and pray healing over someone, and we step out in faith; God is moving and ready to use us. He is a respecter of faith, not persons. We should constantly be on the vigilant watch for opportunities to sow into peoples lives, whether it be healing, words of wisdom, knowledge, miracles, tongues, whatever, it is all from the same Spirit and is given according to His will, but we have to be in a place where He can use us. Our coming King, Jesus Christ, has already won the victory, but daily it is up to us to win the battles, to bring the freeing message of the Gospel to the captive. Go no take this day in victory, and walk in a manner worthy of the Lord!
